Mullane/Murphy Wedding

Last weekend, the Retreat at Balcones Springs had the pleasure of hosting the Mullane/Murphy wedding weekend, which had exclusive use of our entire property.

During the day, members of the wedding party took a jump off the inflatable “blob” into our private spring-fed lake, while others enjoyed zip-lining across the lake and hiking throughout the property on the gorgeous day.

The party then retreated to our bridal and groom accommodations to prepare for a lovely outdoor ceremony, followed by an extraordinarily fun reception! After dancing the night away, our exhausted guests were able to relax for the night in log-cabins, and of course, the special Honeymoon suite. Guests enjoyed a quick breakfast before departure the next morning.

Some lovely comments from the Mullane/Murphy guests include:

“The part that surpassed expectations the most was the staff, I can’t imagine what more they could have done.”

“Your facility is top notch.”

“The staff was by far the most accommodating and professional.”

“The food was exceptional!”

“The staff was exceptional in all areas- recreation support, dining support, cleaning staff, and mechanical staff. Every request was handled fast and with enthusiasm.”

Thank you so much for allowing us to be the host for such a special day in your lives! We were so happy to have you, and we wish you all the best in your future together.

The Mullane/Murphy wedding was coordinated by our wedding coordinator, Samantha Schoen.

Our Capstone guests, a small group of only five visitors, spent most of their time utilizing our facilities for meetings, but made sure to enjoy the lovely landscape of the Retreat with a round of disc golf on our property’s own course, an outdoor movie on our lakeside terrace, and a relaxing nighttime bonfire!

Some comments from our Capstone guests include:

“Food exceeded expectations!”

Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd

Two weekends ago, the Retreat at Balcones Springs also hosted an eighty-person retreat for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. This lovely group made full use of what the Retreat has to offer—doing yoga, playing tennis, riding horses, and even getting massages during their recreation time!

A hearty Saturday night dinner was accompanied by a lovely beer and wine bar. Our Good Shepherd guests were especially thankful for and enjoyed Balcones Springs’ gluten-free accommodations—a specialty and pride of our chefs and kitchen staff. One guest even noted, “I have special dietary needs that were eagerly and graciously attended to at every meal!”

Other comments from the Good Shepherd guests include:
